Access College meets with all types of students, gifted, ESL, and those with IEPs, sharing firsthand experiences and information, encouraging kids to optimize their high school experiences, instilling self-confidence and independence.

Families can expect individual attention for each student, including:

  • Advising on high school course selection from year to year, formulating an academic plan, encouraging kids to enroll in classes that best address strengths and interests and when advanced (honors, AP, IB) classes are appropriate

  • Recommending extracurricular activities, volunteer opportunities, and summer programs based on student interests

  • Suggesting support services to students with specific academic needs

  • Disseminating information on standardized testing and preparation options

  • Aligning expectations with performance

  • Assessment of individual student needs, academic profile and preferences for college placement

  • Aiding students in prioritizing academics, environmental and social factors involved in college selection

  • Helping with timelines (especially during the application process)
